UPDATE, 8:35 A.M. TUESDAY: A GoFundMe online appeal says Teresa Miles, who reportedly left Chilliwack General Hospital over the B.C. Day long weekend, has been found deceased.

“It is with deep sorrow that I share this heartbreaking news. Teresa has been found, but sadly, she has passed away following a vehicle accident,” the GoFundMe stated. “Her loved ones kindly ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time as we grieve her loss.”
The GoFundMe was started by Melissa Hiemstra from Chilliwack.
The GoFundMe thanked the many people who took up the cause to find Teresa Miles.
“I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported the search — those who shared posts, allowed us to place missing person flyers in their stores/businesses, our devoted friends and family who searched tirelessly, as well as the first responders and search and rescue teams who assisted,” the GoFundMe stated. “For those who wish to mourn with us, we will be organizing a public memorial. Details will be shared soon. Our mother was a truly beautiful soul — inside and out. Our hearts are shattered knowing she is no longer with us. She was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words.”

CHILLIWACK — A woman who apparently left Chilliwack General Hospital during the B.C. Day long weekend has been reported missing by her family members.

According to the text of a widely circulated social media post, Teresa Miles was last heard from by her family members on Friday, August 1 at 11 p.m. Miles was not feeling well and presented to Chilliwack General Hospital Friday night. She reportedly left CGH in the early morning hours the next day.

The social media post states Miles’ phone connected in Hope, B.C., at 6:34 a.m. Saturday morning. Later in the day, her phone connected in Copper Mines, between Princeton and Manning Park, at approximately 4 p.m. with a 10-km radius. Miles was believed to be driving consistently in that area and reportedly drives a black Hyundai Santa Fe SUV.

“It is unusual for Teresa to not return after a few hours or contact her family,” the social media post states.

Miles is described as a 50-year-old Caucasian female, 5’5″ tall, 160 pounds, with brown/grey hair and brown eyes. The social media post states Miles has a tattoo of three small birds on her left collarbone.

The woman’s daughter, Ariana Alissa, wrote on Facebook Monday morning, August 4, that Miles has not been located.

“So far there is still no signs of her. Police have pinged her phone again at Copper Mountain, and based on her phone records it looks like it may have been turned off last night. Search parties are resuming in the area today,” Alissa wrote on Facebook.
