Woman arrested for imitation firearm allegedly assaults Abbotsford police officers
ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford allege a 29-year-old female assaulted police officers over the long weekend after she was arrested for possession of an imitation firearm near a homeless shelter.
According to a social media post, Abbotsford PD officers were dispatched Monday morning (Aug. 4) for the report of a female with a firearm near the Lonzo shelter. Police say the woman was arrested and found to be in possession of an imitation firearm.
During her arrest, police allege the woman assaulted the arresting officers by kicking them and spitting on them.
She remains in custody. Charges are being pursued in conjunction with the B.C. Prosecution Service.
