ABBOTSFORD — A long-standing summer tradition returns Friday (Aug. 1) as the Abbotsford Agrifair takes over Exhibition Park. The three-day party runs from August 1 to August 3 and is packed with concerts, livestock competitions, midway rides and family fun events.

This year’s fair is highlighted by the debut of Monster Spectacular, which is billed as Canada’s biggest monster truck tour. Monster Spectacular features five trucks including PsychoPat along with local favourites Rough Neck and Crude Behaviour. Shows are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at noon and 6 p.m. in the Thunder Bowl.

Back by popular demand this year is the Northern Lights Motorsports Demolition Derby. Five races are planned over all three days of the fair. Other highlights include All-Star Wrestling, a Monster Foam Party in the Kids Zone and live concerts each evening.

Friday night features Faber Drive, followed by Roadside Attraction, a Tragically Hip tribute band, on Saturday, and legendary blues band Tom Lavin & the Powder Blues wrapping up the event on Sunday.

Volunteer organizers of Agrifair have a goal of bridging the urban-rural divide by highlighting local agriculture and family activities. Visitors are encouraged to explore the 4-H livestock shows, antique farm machinery displays, and the ever-popular Pioneer Barn.

Gates will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are under $15 for students and seniors and under $25 for adults. Children five and under are free. Three-day passes are available at a reduced rate. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or you can skip the line by purchasing tickets online by clicking here.

Tickets for Agrifair do not include entry in the Monster Spectacular show but do include entry into all other events.
