Ongoing police incident in Bridal Falls

CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP are investigating an incident that blocked access to a resort area in Bridal Falls through part of the night.

A witness reported seeing a burning car on Cheam Avenue around 11:45 p.m. Sunday (Jul. 27). The fire was located behind the Shell gas station and outside The Cottages at Bridal Falls.

As of Monday morning at 10 a.m., police confirm they are dealing with an ongoing incident in the Popkum area, adding there is no risk to the public.

Access to the resort area was restored this morning.

RCMP expect to release more information on the incident later today.
