MISSION — Mounties in Mission say a male and female have been arrested after finding a Geo Tracker SUV stolen from Chilliwack in a ditch along Dewdney Trunk Road earlier this month.

According to a statement, Mission RCMP were notified on Monday, July 7, at approximately 8:20 p.m., about a suspicious black Geo Tracker SUV that wound up in a ditch along Dewdney Trunk Road near Goundrey Street, with a male and female associated to it. Police received a call about the license plate of the vehicle, which led them to determine it had been stolen in Chilliwack a few days prior.

When officers arrived, the vehicle was still in the ditch, but the male and female occupants had since left the area. Mission RCMP utilized a police dog to track the occupants, who were located ten minutes later. Both occupants were arrested, and the male was determined to also have outstanding warrants from Alberta. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who saw the vehicle driving earlier and has not yet spoken with police is asked to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161, file 25-8085.
