Abbotsford driver sanctioned after rear-ending tractor in Sumas Prairie
ABBOTSFORD — An Abbotsford driver has sown some hefty fines after crashing into a tractor in the Sumas Prairie on Thursday (July 17).
Abbotsford Emergency Services responded to the collision that morning when the passenger vehicle rear-ended the slow-moving tractor. Both the driver and tractor operator sustained minor injuries.
Abbotsford police have since ticketed the driver for driving without a licence, without insurance and with incorrect licence plates– totalling $983 in fines.
“The City of Abbotsford has deep agricultural roots and proudly hosts a diverse range of farms and farming industries,” wrote the Abbotsford Police Department in a social media post.
