ABBOTSFORD — The driver of a Mercedes in Abbotsford is a little lighter in the wallet after being clocked at an absurdly high rate of speed Wednesday morning.
According to a social media post, the Abbotsford Police Department says one of its traffic enforcement officers observed a vehicle committing several traffic violations and captured the Mercedes on radar travelling over 200 km/h on South Parallel Road near Whatcom Road, in what was a posted 80 km/h zone.
Police initiated a traffic stop and the driver was charged with a litany of offences. Police say the driver received $759 in fines and the vehicle was impounded by Jack’s Towing.
Police provided proof in their social media post that the driver was clocked at 200 km/h.
