CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack has confirmed that a former yarn shop in downtown Chilliwack will undergo improvements for a different type of business.

Jaimie Tocher, a communications assistant for the city, told Fraser Valley Today in an email that the city’s building department has issued a building permit for the property at 45904 Victoria Avenue.

“The Building Department has confirmed that the permit is for the renovation and/or alteration of an existing commercial building for a tenant improvement,” Tocher said.

The applicant is Petits Pals Childcare Inc., Tocher said.

Trades workers have been going in and out of the building at 45904 Victoria Avenue this past week and last week as the business undergoes improvements.

Kim Reimer of Black Cat Yarn Shop & Studio, which formerly occupied the space at 45904 Victoria Avenue, confirmed to Fraser Valley Today in an email that the yarn shop is only online now. It still has a vibrant online presence with over 9,300 followers on Instagram. It sells gorgeous hand-dyed yarn made right in Chilliwack.
