Ruth and Naomi’s invites public to upcoming open house

CHILLIWACK — Ruth and Naomi’s Mission is inviting the public to learn about its newest project in partnership with BC Housing and the City of Chilliwack. The Grove is located at Ruth & Naomi’s Yale Rd Site at 45466 Yale Rd. The new project will offer 43 rooms for older adults​ along with programs to foster a connection between residents and the community.

A BBQ will be offered to community members along with a tour of the new facility on August 1. The doors will be open to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The public is asked to RSVP by July 28 by following this link.

Ruth and Naomi’s is a long-standing charitable organization in Chilliwack that supports individuals and families facing homelessness, addiction and poverty. It describes its purpose as “walking alongside people on a journey of recovery, demonstrating the love of Jesus.” The organization offers a range of services focused on housing, recovery and outreach.

Ruth and Naomi’s may be best known for three facilities in the area that include the RAN Family Housing Centre, Interchange and the RAN Community Outreach Centre.

The Family Housing Centre provides 36 affordable housing units, a women’s addiction recovery program, a daycare, a health clinic run with Fraser Health, and a community food market.

Interchange offers 59 rooms of supportive housing and a 26-bed men’s addiction recovery program.

The Outreach Centre houses two shelters with a total of 89 beds and operates as a warming or cooling centre during the day. It also serves roughly 380 meals daily and distributes donated clothing through the Wearhouse.
