Abbotsford residents asked to help shape the future of city trails
ABBOTSFORD — The City of Abbotsford is calling on residents to take part in a survey that will help to shape the future of its recreational and multi-use trail system.
According to a City of Abbotsford news release, the city’s growing population and evolving demographics is leading to the need for trail expansion, upgrades and new outdoor recreation options. To help guide city planners, City Hall has launched a community-wide Trail User Survey to provide a voice for residents to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the existing trail network, leading to future improvements.
The existing network of city-managed trails already offers a wide range of recreational opportunities while connecting neighbourhoods, green spaces and natural areas.
The online survey is open until September 2. Feedback collected will help to develop future phases of the city’s trail strategy and identify the infrastructure upgrades required to meet the needs of the public.
