Mission to kick off 38th annual folk fest in Fraser River Heritage Park

MISSION — The City of Mission is gearing up to sing, dance and gather round on park grounds next week for the 38th annual Mission Folk Music Festival (MFMF).

More than 20 artists from a range of traditional and modern disciplines are set to light up Fraser River Heritage Park from July 25 to July 27.

Visitors can participate in over 30 collaboration and workshop performances, including “bring-your-own instrument” sessions where they can come up and jam on a special stage.

“The Mission Folk Music Festival not only presents great music, it offers a weekend of discovery that can only be experienced live,” wrote festival organizers.

“A whole-of-community effort, MFMF is affordable, offers shaded areas and opens its arms to create a weekend oasis of friendly, easygoing enjoyment, musical appreciation and participation.”

All ages are invited to enjoy the food and festivities. Kids can also play and create art through the Wee Folks programming, available at a tent next to each day’s stage.
