CHILLIWACK — Tourism Chilliwack is inviting visitors to get out and touch some grass, catch some fish and climb some mountains this summer with its latest campaign.

Throughout July and August, guests are welcome to experience “The Great Outside” in and around the city. The campaign features a range of travel plans, including guided tours, trail adventures, festivals, and farm markets.

“Chilliwack is a true gem when it comes to its breadth of outdoor recreation activities and ways to get away from it all in the heart of the Fraser Valley,” said Tourism Chilliwack’s Carly Brkich.

“This campaign is all about celebrating The Great Outside and showcasing Chilliwack as the definitive destination for exhilarating al-fresco adventures of all sorts, with space and soul for everyone, and protecting this gift that we all are able to explore and enjoy.”

Featured suggestions include:

  • Exploring the waves and waterways on Main Beach Boat Rentals at Cultus Lake and the Cultus Lake Marina, as well as whitewater fun and lazy river floats with Chilliwack River Rafting.
  • Joining in various events, like the Chilliwack Pride Festival in the downtown core this Sunday (July 13) and the 153rd Chilliwack Fair from August 8 to 10.
  • Supporting local producers in weekly farmers’ markets.
  • Letting others take the lead through guided tours. Visitors are invited to explore the city’s history through the museum and downtown, or soar above the Fraser Valley through helicopter rides.
  • Learning a new skill. Chilliwack has no shortage of instructors for anyone wanting to come home knowing how to stand up on a paddleboard, trail biking, fly casting and more.
