CHILLIWACK — The owners of a bakery in Hope that sells donuts, pastries, cakes and much more plan to open a second location in Chilliwack.

Ankita Singh and Naveen Chaudhary, owners of the Rolling Pin Bakery at 821 6 Avenue in Hope, told Fraser Valley Today in an email they are actively working on opening a second location of Rolling Pin Bakery in Rosedale, at the former Cyprus Grill location.

“Thank you for reaching out! I’m pleased to confirm that yes — we are actively working on opening a second location of Rolling Pin Bakery in Rosedale at 51299 Yale Road,” the owners said. “This is an exciting step for us, and something we’ve been looking forward to for quite some time.”

Jamie Best, director of communications and legislative services for the City of Chilliwack, told Fraser Valley Today in an email that the city’s planning department has confirmed that the former business at 51299 Yale Road, Cyprus Grill, has closed.

“We have a new application for “Rolling Pin Bakery”, a retail bakery and coffee shop,” Best said. “That application is under review and has not yet been issued. The WellCare Holistic Wellness Clinic operates in a separate residential building located at the north end of the property. They have an active and approved business licence.”

The bakery is in the process of securing the necessary business licenses, health permits and equipment.

“We anticipate receiving our approvals by late July, which will put us in a good position to open shortly afterward,” the owners said.

The menu will remain largely the same as its Hope location, with a few additions. They’re considering an indoor seating capacity of about 8–9 people, along with potential patio seating.

“The focus, as always, will be on simple, fresh-baked food made from scratch,” the owners said. “Rolling Pin Bakery is a small-town, old-school bakery — we don’t compete with big-name chains, and we’re proud of that. Our team takes great pride in what we do, and we’re excited to bring that same spirit to the Rosedale community.”

The owners invite the community to check out their website, www.rollingpinbakery.ca, for more information on their menu and offerings.
