Prices going up at two Chilliwack recreation centres this week

CHILLIWACK — Prices for drop-in visits, multi-visit cards and memberships at Chilliwack’s two public recreation centres are set to increase this week.

According to a social media post from YMCA BC, which has a contract with the City of Chilliwack, rates and fees will rise effective July 1 at the Cheam Leisure Centre in Garrison and the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre at Hodgins and Corbould.

Effective July 1, drop-in visits for adults 19-64 years old will increase from $6.71 to $6.81, while visits for seniors 65 and older will rise eight cents from $5.20 to $5.28.

The most noticeable increases involve the multi-visit passes and monthly and yearly memberships. A 10-visit card will increase from $56.58 to $58.84, while a 20-visit card rises from $109.51 to $113.89.

For seniors, a 10-visit card will now cost $46.35 versus the current $44.56, and a 20-visit card will increase from $81.07 to $84.31.

Monthly memberships are also on the rise. A one-month membership will change from the current $54.65 rate to $56.84; for seniors, it will increase from $42.64 to $44.35.

A three-month membership will increase from $154.70 to $160.89; for seniors, it will rise from $117.36 to $122.06.

Lastly, a yearly membership will increase from $547.46 to $569.35; for seniors, it will go up from the current $428.12 to $445.24.
