
Man wanted on warrant for first-degree murder could be in the Lower Mainland: SPVM
MONTREAL, QUEBEC — Police in Montreal say a 38-year-old Quebec man who is wanted on a warrant for first-degree murder may be in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland.
According to a statement circulated to news outlets by the B.C. RCMP, Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (Montreal Police Service) say Pierry Philogene is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder (Art. 235 C.cr) as part of a joint investigation between the SPVM and the Sureté du Québec. It is believed that Philogene may be in the Lower Mainland.
In a statement in French on the SPVM website, and loosely translated to English via Google Translate, nearly 150 SPVM and SQ police officers participated in a massive operation launched in the cities of Montreal, Laval, Blainville, Shefford, Saint-Lazare, Repentigny, Quebec City, and Rosemère. A total of 11 suspects were arrested. They are men between the ages of 27 and 57. The suspects arrested are believed to have participated in one or more murders or attempted murders, either as an instigator, perpetrator, or collaborator, between 2011 and 2021.
Philogene is one of the five suspects who remain outstanding from the police investigation, according to a news release from SPVM.
