CHILLIWACK — A Chilliwack RCMP member took time out of his schedule earlier this month to help students from a Chilliwack school with hooks and proper technique during a special fishing club session at Cultus Lake.

Chilliwack RCMP Constable Bradley Holditch from the Indigenous Police Services division joined students of Stitó:s Lá:lém Totí:lt Middle School for a special fishing club session at Cultus Lake.

“What started as a small group has now grown to nearly 40 students learning to fish, thanks to the passion of teacher Cory Britton,” Chilliwack RCMP said. “The club gives youth – especially those facing physical, mental, or financial barriers – a chance to connect with nature and learn a lifelong skill.”

Chilliwack RCMP say students were gifted with fishing rods and gear, and Cst. Holditch was there to assist with hooks, baiting, and casting.
