ABBOTSFORD — After an extensive search, the Abby Cat Daddy has finally found a new place to settle in– but it will need some help securing it.

“We’ve found a location in Abbotsford that could be everything we’ve dreamed of for our Thrift Store & Adoption Centre — central, accessible, and full of potential,” wrote the cat rescue in a social media post. “We’ll spill the beans soon, but for now… let’s just say it’s very promising.”

The Abby Cat Daddy will need to raise $60,000 to open the full centre, but for now, it needs $15,000 just to cover the deposit, licensing and essential set-up.

“We are looking for business sponsors as well to bridge the gap. We have applied to several grants for the things we can release/do later down the road, but if we can get the 15k, we can get into the space and open the thrift store at least.”

A new adoption space will help showcase more cats in need, which can lead to higher adoption rates and cut back the number of strays or shelter cats. The adjacent thrift store would help serve as a fundraising tool to support the cost of Abby Cat Daddy’s programs.

“Ultimately, your generous donation will help us create a sustainable, thriving community for Abbotsford’s cats, enhance the visibility of adoptable cats, and provide critical services to the people and companion animals/pets who need it most.”

The rescue is currently at $1,676 of its $15,000 goal. Anyone interested in helping can visit the Abby Cat Daddy’s donation page.
