CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack firefighters were paged Wednesday morning for the report of a vehicle into a home.

According to scanner traffic, at least three engines (1, 4 and 1-2) were advised at 11:06 a.m. about a vehicle that hit a home in the 8700 block of Baker Drive.

Responding firefighters told dispatch there were four ambulance and/or RCMP units on scene.

Fire crews radioed dispatch that all occupants were out of the vehicle and there was minimal damage to the home on Baker Drive. At that point, all other units were advised to stand down as they weren’t needed.

Fire crews told dispatch at 11:15 a.m. they were assisting with loading a patient to be in care of BC Ambulance Service. The scene was left with RCMP. Engine 1-2 was clear as of 11:18 a.m.

It’s the second incident in three days in Chilliwack in which a vehicle struck a building. On Monday morning, a vehicle hit the Kwaw-Kwaw-Apilt Cannabis shop at 8858 Ashwell Road in Chilliwack, causing damage to the northeast corner of the building. Shattered glass for one of the windows was visible from the road Monday morning. As of Tuesday evening, the cannabis store was still open but its ATM was not operating.
