Chilliwack businesses sold to new ownership

CHILLIWACK — Two retail establishments under one roof in Chilliwack known for selling a variety of hot dogs and smoked meat, as well as colossal cinnamon buns, have been sold and will have new owners by next week.

Kerry Krahn and Claudette Krahn say that after nearly five years of making cinnamon buns and cooking meat, they’re moving on from SinAmen Bun Co. and Smoke Shack BBQ, located at 8810 Young Road near Valley Toyota.

“After nearly 5 years of cinnamon buns, BBQ, and incredible memories… it’s time for a new chapter,” Kerry and Claudette said Wednesday night on their Facebook page. “We’ve officially sold SinAmen Bun Co. and Smoke Shack BBQ, and our last day will be next Wednesday, June 11.”

Smoke Shack BBQ sold all kinds of hot dogs to suit every palate, including an Alabama Slammer Dog (carmelized onions and bacon to boot), a pulled pork dog, a breaky dog (bacon, American cheese, fried egg and mayo) and much more.

On the decadent side, SinAmen Bun Co. sold glazed buns, cream cheese buns, cherry cheesecake buns and a lot more to satisfy every craving under the sun.

The two owners expressed pride in what they accomplished – with the help of their loyal customers, of course.

“We’re so proud of what was built—and even more grateful for the community who made it possible. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you,” the owners said.

They expect the two businesses will continue to prosper under new ownership, while at the same time cherishing the memories they established dating back to 2020.

“We’re excited to see these businesses continue to grow under new ownership, and we’ll always look back on this chapter with pride (and missing coming home smelling like cinnamon),” they said. “Expect a long winded post next week recapping this amazing journey! Kerry & Claudette.”
