Road to Silver Lake, Ross Lake south of Hope reopens
SKAGIT VALLEY (HOPE) — The B.C. government says Silver Skagit Road south of Hope has now reopened to the public as of Tuesday, April 15, but construction will continue for roughly 45 kilometres of the road that suffered extensive flood damage in 2021.
According to an update from the province, remedial work is ongoing along the route and will continue for the 2025 construction season to repair the remaining 13 flood-damaged sites along the route. Construction will continue along the corridor from the 10.9-km mark to the 56.7-km mark. Traffic delays may occur for motorists heading to Silver Lake or Ross Lake.
The province says Silver Lake Campground and Silver Lake Provincial Park are closed to the public for seasonal shutdown until May 1. Silver Lake Park is a small, undeveloped lakefront area where visitors can enjoy fishing, picnicking and boating (10 horse power motor limit) against a gorgeous mountain backdrop, or take pleasure in a rustic camping experience.
Silver Skagit Road will be open to traffic from the 6.3-km mark through to the Canada-U.S. border (58 km) from April 15 to October 15.
