Update: Hwy. 1 fully open after vehicle fire briefly closes e/b Highway 1 west of Chilliwack

UPDATE: Highway 1 has fully reopened after Saturday afternoon’s vehicle fire briefly closed Highway 1 eastbound just before No. 3 Road, between Abbotsford and Chilliwack.

ABBOTSFORD — DriveBC says a vehicle fire west of No. 3 Road has closed eastbound Highway 1, just west of Chilliwack.

According to a social media post at 3:38 p.m. Saturday afternoon (Apr. 5), DriveBC says motorists should expect major delays in the area leading up to No. 3 Road (exit 104), the turn-off to Cultus Lake and Yarrow.

Motorists are asked to use South Parallel Road as an alternate route.
