Update 7:40 a.m. Thursday: Highway 1 reopens through Langley after semi truck flips, catches fire

UPDATE: AbbyPD has advised news media at 7:27 a.m. this morning that Highway 1 eastbound has reopened to single-lane traffic. Crews will remain on site throughout the morning to investigate and clear the scene following the early morning accident.

Original story from 7:12 a.m.:

FRASER VALLEY — Highway 1 in Langley was closed eastbound at 264 Street for at least two hours early Thursday morning after a semi truck flipped.

According to a post at 4:17 a.m., AbbyPD said emergency crews were dealing with a serious accident in which a semi truck flipped and caught fire.

Police said at the time that there were no reported injuries.

One other passenger vehicle was involved.

At 6:02 a.m., AbbyPD provided an update that crews remained on scene attending to the incident. Highway 1 was still closed at 264 Street, but police said some traffic had been pushed through the scene.

Google Maps traffic continues to show dark red in eastbound Highway 1 lanes.
