ERT incident in Aldergrove Wednesday relates to drug investigation (VIDEO)

ALDERGROVE — An Abbotsford Police Department spokesperson says a deployment of Emergency Response Team members to Aldergrove Wednesday is connected to an ongoing drug investigation, but could not reveal more information.

According to a brief statement from Sgt. Paul Walker, who specializes in strategic communications and public engagement for AbbyPD, ERT members assisted AbbyPD Wednesday with their investigation.

“I can confirm that this incident relates to an ongoing and active Abbotsford Police Drug Enforcement Unit investigation,” Sgt. Walker said. “The Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team is assisting us today with this investigation. At this point I’m not able to provide any further details.”

A video sent to Fraser Valley Today by an area residents shows ERT members with guns drawn approaching what appears to be a black Tesla-looking vehicle.
