
IHIT identifies the homicide victims at Sumas Mountain Regional Park in Abbotsford
ABBOTSFORD — The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the two victims in a double homicide that occurred on January 3 in Sumas Mountain Regional Park.
The bodies of 44-year-old Christopher Carter and 48-year-old Sandy Raposo were found in a burned-out 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. Police say Carter and Raposo were residents in the Lower Mainland.
“We believe there are individuals who know what happened to Chris and Sandy, and we are asking them to do the right thing by contacting IHIT,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT in a news release.”We are interested in speaking with anyone who may have been in contact with Chris and Sandy in the days leading up to their death.”
Authorities were called to the scene at 2:46 p.m. that day and arrived to the vehicle as it was engulfed in flames. The bodies were identified through the work of IHIT, AbbyPD, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) and the BC Coroners Service.
