Man, 40, charged for alleged sexual assault, assault in the Fraser Valley
FRASER VALLEY — A 40-year-old man remains in custody ahead of his next court appearance later this month after being charged by the B.C. Prosecution Service for assault and sexual assault in two separate incidents that occurred in the Fraser Valley.
According to a statement from Surrey Police Service Staff Sergeant Lindsey Houghton, an investigation led by the RCMP’s Vulnerable Persons Unit within the Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) eventually resulted in the approval of multiple charges by Crown prosecutors in relation to two victims.
On October 17, 2024, police received a report from a male victim who stated he had been allegedly assaulted by a man on two occasions at an apartment in the area of 141 Street and 104 Avenue, Surrey.
The SPOSU Vulnerable Persons Unit launched an investigation before the 40-year-old suspect, William Alexander “Alex” Kroesen, was arrested on November 28, 2024. The suspect was released without charges pending further investigation and released on an undertaking with conditions to have no direct or indirect contact with the victim.
