Rice and noodle restaurant coming to Popkum

POPKUM — A rice and noodle restaurant currently under construction will be the final tenant in the same Rosedale Village shopping centre as Dairy Queen and Starbucks.

A building permit sticker from the Faser Valley Regional District affixed to the window of unit 102 at 52964 Yale Road East in Popkum suggests the building will be T.I. Rice & Noodle Restaurant.

The restaurant will be situated next to Oxygen Yoga & Fitness and Freshslice Pizza in the smaller shopping centre.

Samantha Piper, FVRD manager of communications, said the FVRD permit was issued on September 20, 2024. Depending on the owner’s actual timelines, estimated construction time means it could be completed in 2-3 months, Piper said, adding the FVRD has a sign permit application for “rice and noodle.”

In addition to the aforementioned food outlets, the restaurant joins nearby establishments like Tim Hortons, Barcelos (flame-grilled chicken and Portuguese cuisine), Wildcat Grill, and Subway as places where Popkum and Rosedale residents can order food.
