MISSION — Mounties in Mission are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who police believe committed repeated acts of shoplifting.

According to a statement from police, police first became aware of the suspect in December 2024 when a loss prevention officer at a grocery store in Mission reported that a man tried to steal multiple grocery items. Police say the man has returned numerous times and allegedly tried to steal various products like bottles of wine.

The man is described as Caucasian, about 30 years old, with brown hair and a full beard, and usually wears an orange flannel jacket and a yellow or orange baseball cap. Police are asking anyone with information about the alleged serial shoplifter to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.

The alleged shoplifting incident was one of 272 calls for service that Mission RCMP fielded between January 27 and February 2. Police conducted 50 patrols of identified hot spots and 17 curfew checks.
