Abbotsford police respond to motel fire Friday night

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department has confirmed a fire at the Alpine Inn early Friday night (Jan. 31).
At 8:59 p.m., AbbyPD said they responded to a request for police assistance from the Abbotsford Fire & Rescue Service. Police helped with traffic control and scene management, but upon review, the incident is not being treated as a criminal investigation.
Alpine Inn told Fraser Valley Today that no one was in the affected area during the incident. The motel also confirmed two rooms were affected, but the rest of the Inn remains open.
