CHILLIWACK — As expected, one store has already closed its doors for good this month while two more stores whose parent company filed for creditor protection recently are poised to close in the coming weeks at Cottonwood mall in Chilliwack.

West49, a specialty retailer of fashion, footwear, accessories and other apparel, has closed while Ricki’s and Bootlegger are facing an imminent closure.

SoftMoc, a shoe store with approximately 135 locations in Canada, including stores in Abbotsford, Langley and Surrey, will replace West49. SoftMoc sells a multitude of popular brands like Crocs, Cole Haan, Columbia, Teva, Ugg, Skechers, Reebok, Puma, Merrell, Dr. Martens and much more.

Signs have now been posted in both Ricki’s and Bootlegger advising patrons that the retail outlets are closing for good. Customers are being told that everything must go with savings of up to 50 per cent off remaining inventory. The last day gift cards could be accepted at both stores was Friday, January 17.
