CULTUS LAKE — A roadside convenience store selling everything from deli and dairy to camping supplies and snacks has closed its doors for the foreseeable future.

Lakeside Market, located at 3776 Columbia Valley Highway near Sunnyside Campground, confirmed to Fraser Valley Today Wednesday night (Jan. 15) that it has shuttered its business for good.

“Hi Mike, thank you for your support. We have closed our business. Hopefully another business takes our place in the near future,” Lakeside Market said.

As of December 30, 2024, Lakeside said it no longer acted as agents for Purolator, telling customers in a social media post that they would need to contact Purolator directly for information on their packages. It apologized for the inconvenience.

“Dear customers: Lakeside market is now closed for the foreseeable future,” Lakeside wrote online. “Thank you everyone for all your support in the last 6 years. We hope a new store will take it’s place in the near future.”

The business had previously operated as Cultus Lake Market for at least nine years before making the name change to Lakeside Market.

In November and December, Lakeside Market had been offering a 50 per cent reduction on some of its inventory, including camping supplies, beach supplies, clothing and groceries.

The property on which Lakeside Market is not governed by the Cultus Lake Park Board.
