Chilliwack residents asked to recycle smart this holiday season

Dec 27, 2024 | 11:35 AM

CHILLIWACK — The City of Chilliwack is reminding residents to recycle paper gift wrap, gift bags, cards, and cardboard at the curb as part of the city’s curbside collection program. With the holiday season leading to a surge in waste, the city is encouraging households to adopt eco-friendly practices.

Eco Canada, a national environmental organization, is also calling on Canadians to reduce, reuse, and recycle this season. It says saving and reusing wrapping materials for future celebrations is a simple way to cut down on waste.

For those looking to minimize packaging waste in the future, Eco Canada recommends giving experiences or consumables as gifts.
