Update: Telus service in parts of Chilliwack has been restored after an outage was caused by cable theft

UPDATE WEDNESDAY, 9:25 P.M.: The Telus service outage in parts of Ryder Lake, Eastern Hillsides and the Chilliwack River Valley has now been resolved. The Telus website no longer shows a service outage in any part of Chilliwack.

CHILLIWACK — A service outage affecting Telus customers in Ryder Lake, parts of Eastern Hillsides and the Chilliwack River Valley has lasted for over 24 hours.

The Vancouver-based company is reporting on its website that Telus-related services are currently experiencing a disruption impacting mobile devices and landline phones. More specifically, the affected services consist of Telus cell phone voice, data and text; Telus internet and home phone service; Optik TV and Pik TV. and 911 landline.

The service outage began at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 and continues as of 1:49 p.m. Wednesday. The company wrote in its most recent update that service restoration efforts continue, and there is currently no estimated time of restoration.
