CHILLIWACK — Two popular Chilliwack businesses are not for lease, despite a pair of signs indicating otherwise in their parking lot.

Two for-lease signs appeared sometime recently in the parking lot outside Jimmy J’s Grill and Characters Pub & Grill at 8559 Young Road, but the businesses are in no danger of closing nor are they looking for a new location.

Re/Max commercial realtor Gavin Pannu told Fraser Valley Today over the phone Thursday morning there is office space for lease near the back corner of the commercial plaza, above Siwash Sports (102-45928 Hocking Avenue). There appears to be a second-story office nestled in the back section of the plaza.

Siwash Sports appears to be relocating to a location somewhere in Chilliwack. It posted to Facebook on Sunday, Sept. 15 with a note: “Things are coming along, but still a ways to go! New shop coming soon.”

Jimmy J’s Grill offers breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings in a convenient location across from Chilliwack City Hall, while Characters, located just next door, bills itself as the home of the best happy hour in Chilliwack. The plaza also features a liquor store on the Hocking Avenue side.
