
Chilliwack Fire called to abandoned cabin fire late Tuesday night
CHILLIWACK — Multiple Chilliwack Fire Department units were called to an area near the 46100 block of Chilliwack Lake Road Tuesday night (Sept. 3) for an apparent fire at an abandoned cabin.
According to witness descriptions and scanner traffic, Chilliwack Fire received a call about a cabin on fire near 46191 Chilliwack Lake Road at 10:54 p.m. Tuesday night. Engines 1, 4, 4-2, Ladder 4, Tenders 3, 4 and 6, and the Chilliwack duty chief were paged.
The fire reportedly occurred in an area past Sniperz Paintball, roughly two kilometres east of the Vedder Bridge.
The abandoned cabin is reportedly on the south side of Chilliwack Lake Road near the riverside. The cabin is occasionally occupied but was reportedly vacant at the time of the fire.
