BC Wildfire aims to control fire southeast of Sunshine Valley with helicopters, nearly a dozen firefighters

FRASER VALLEY AREA B, SOUTHEAST OF SUNSHINE VALLEY — BC Wildfire Service says it will aim to control a one-hectare fire southeast of Hope with the help of helicopters and nearly a dozen firefighters.

According to information on the BCWS dashboard, provincial firefighting personnel are establishing access and water delivery to the fire and will work to control through direct attack supported by helicopters.

Fortunately, the one-hectare fire is not threatening any community or values. The fire is entrenched in steep terrain near Mount McConnell in Fraser Valley Electoral Area B, which encompasses Sunshine Valley and parts of Manning Park.
