Suspect identified in attempted murder in Surrey

SURREY — Surrey RCMP have identified the suspect involved in an attempted murder that occurred in Whalley on August 2. The suspect, 33-year-old Kalid Yimer, is described as 5’6” tall, with dark hair, brown eyes, and a medium build.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:10 p.m. on August 2 in the 10200 block of City Parkway. Officers responded to reports of a serious assault and found the victim with severe injuries. The victim was transported to the hospital.

The following day, on August 3, 2024, the stolen vehicle used by the suspect was recovered with assistance from the public. Despite this, Yimer remains at large.
