CHILLIWACK — Mounties in Chilliwack say they are investigating a shooting Wednesday evening (July 31) that left one man with serious injuries.
According to a statement from the Chilliwack RCMP media relations unit, police say they were dispatched Wednesday night at around 10 p.m. to the area of Avalon Avenue in Fairfield Island for a report of shots being fired. Police located a man with visible injuries who was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of police call a “quick coordinated response”, two suspects were identified and taken into custody.
The Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crime Unit has conduct of the investigation and initial evidence suggests this was a targeted, isolated incident.
