IHIT investigating homicide of a woman in Maple Ridge
MAPLE RIDGE — Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating a homicide that occurred Sunday (Jul. 21) afternoon in Maple Ridge. A police news release says officers were called to the area of 232 Street and 132 Avenue at approximately 2:30 p.m. Ridge Meadows RCMP arrived to find an unidentified female bleeding with serious injuries.
Despite the efforts of first responders including BC Emergency Health Services, the woman was pronounced dead at approximately 3:25 p.m.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been deployed to Maple Ridge and has taken over the investigation. This case remains active and ongoing, with IHIT leading the efforts to gather more information.
Authorities say no information suggests any ongoing threats to public safety.
