Fraser Health services impacted by global cyber outage
CHILLIWACK — B.C.’s health system has been impacted by a global cyber disruption that has produced widespread IT outages.
In a message on its website, the Fraser Health Authority says the health system across the province has also been impacted. Networks and computers across Fraser Health and the provincial system have been impacted.
Fraser Health says it has put contingency plans into action to remain operational. It says it is doing its best not to disrupt patient care.
If residents have questions about a healthcare appointment today, Fraser Health asks them to call their healthcare provider directly. Residents are asked to avoid calling hospital switchboards to prevent them from being overloaded.
