Abbotsford celebrates Canada Day with a parade, food truck festival, and fireworks
CHILLIWACK — Abbotsford is set to host a series of community events this Canada Day, providing a full day of festivities for residents and visitors.
The July 1 celebrations will kick off with a lively parade along South Fraser Way. The parade will begin at 11 a.m., starting from Bourquin Crescent, proceeding along Trethewey Street, and concluding at W.J. Mouat Secondary School on Mouat Drive.
To ensure the smooth operation of the parade, road closures in the staging area will begin at 6:00 a.m. All other roads noted on the parade map will be closed to traffic from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes due to the significant crowds and street closures during these times.
Following the parade, the Canada Day Family Festival will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Abbotsford Exhibition Park. The family-friendly event will feature an Activity Zone, a Mini Car Show, and Mini Golf, providing entertainment for attendees of all ages.
