After her time at the Chilliwack Chamber, she set her sights on public service and was elected to Chilliwack council in 2008, getting reelected three times until she stepped down in 2022. She has overseen Chilliwack Hospice Society as its executive director for the past seven years.

Attrill Knott has an extensive record of volunteerism, serving on the boards of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre Society and the Chilliwack Agricultural Commission. She is a past president of the Chilliwack Mount Cheam Rotary Club and continues to serve as an active member of the Soroptimist Club of Chilliwack.

She is married to husband Norm Knott and has grown daughters, Melody and Haley.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to represent Chilliwack-Cultus Lake and to continue serving the community that I deeply care about,” Attrill Knott said. “I am committed to working tirelessly to address the issues that matter most to our residents and to build a brighter future for all.”

Attrill Knott will be looking to unseat incumbent MLA Kelli Paddon, who was elected in October 2020 to represent Chilliwack-Kent. Paddon garnered 8,268 votes, or 36.42 percent of the vote tally, ahead of former MLA Laurie Throness, who received 6,964 votes, or 30.68 per cent of the vote. Current Chilliwack Councillor Jason Lum received 5,370 votes (23.6 per cent) as an independent candidate. The Green Party candidate received 8 per cent of the vote, followed by Eli Gagne of the Libertarian Party (1.2 per cent).
