Chilliwack firefighters contain travel trailer blaze

CHILLIWACK — There were no injuries as a result of a fire that destroyed a travel trailer in Chilliwack Friday (May 31).

In a news release the Chilliwack Fire Department said at approximately 1 p.m., it responded to reports of a possible structure fire on the 50000 block of Yale Road. Eighteen firefighters from Halls 1, 2, and 4 were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a fully involved travel trailer engulfed in flames and threatening nearby structures. The quick work of firefighters successfully contained and extinguished the blaze before it could cause significant damage to the surrounding area.

No injuries were reported among the firefighters or the occupants of the trailer. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
