ABBOTSFORD — Over 2,300 customers in east Abbotsford have been without power in east for most of the day Thursday, likely due to strong winds throughout the Fraser Valley that in this case knocked over a power line.

According to information on its website, BC Hydro says 2,376 customers in northeast Abbotsford, including smaller areas like Kilgard, Auguston and Upper Ten Oaks, have been without power since 12:35 p.m. Thursday due to a wire down.

Power is expected back on by 2 a.m. early Friday morning. Crews are on site as of 11:35 p.m. Thursday night.

The impacted service area is east of Bell Road, south of Upper Sumas Mountain Road, and north of Lower Sumas Mountain Road.
