CHILLIWACK — Whether it’s incidents connected to search warrants, wanted suspects, or off-road incidents that involve rescue scenarios, police in Chilliwack have come to expect the unexpected every day.

Like when a Chilliwack RCMP member pulled over a motorcycle rider near the Chilliwack Airport over the weekend and discovered the male rider was a Moroccan national wanted out of Quebec.

According to a statement from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener, a Mountie conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle on Saturday, April 27 at 5:15 p.m., and learned the Moroccan national not only had outstanding warrants out of Quebec, but a Canada-wide immigration warrant had been lodged against the unidentified male.

What’s more, a search of the male incidental to his arrest located numerous fraudulent identification cards including various drivers licenses from several different provinces. The male was held at the Chilliwack detachment until Canada Border Services Agency personnel could take over custody of him.
