ABBOTSFORD — In a thrilling display of skill and sportsmanship, the G.W. Graham varsity boys rugby team clinched a hard-fought victory against W.J. Mouat Secondary Thursday (Apr. 25) at Rotary Stadium in Abbotsford, 15-0. The match, characterized by its intense physicality and strategic plays, showcased the best of high school rugby.

The game started with a competitive edge as both teams vied for control. The only score in the first half came from G.W. Graham’s scrum-half, Logan Murphy, who skillfully dotted the ball on the try line, giving his team an early lead. The second half continued the theme of a defensive battle, with the ball moving back and forth between the teams amidst a highly charged atmosphere.

The turning point came when Mouat Secondary received two successive yellow cards for a high tackle and a dangerous tackle. Capitalizing on the numerical advantage, Logan Murphy broke through the defense to score his second try of the game. Not stopping there, Murphy completed a hat trick, sealing a decisive win for GW Graham.
