PORT ALBERNI — The Chilliwack Chiefs are down to their last life in the second round of the BCHL playoffs heading into Wednesday’s fourth game of the series in Port Alberni.

For the third consecutive game, Bulldogs netminder Callum Tung was the difference, stopping 39 of 40 shots in a 5 – 1 Alberni Valley victory Tuesday (Apr. 23). Tung has stopped 101 of 104 shots fired his way in the best-of-seven series.

Connor Dick scored the lone goal for the Chiefs while five different players scored goals for the Bulldogs.

The game turned chippy early in the third period when the Bulldogs scored to open up a 4 – 1 lead. The Chiefs Jack Sparkes was assessed a five-minute major for an illegal check to the head, along with an automatic game misconduct. Later Chilliwack’s Austin Peters was assessed a double minor for spearing. That was followed a short time later by roughing minors, misconducts and a game misconduct.
