CHILLIWACK — A male and female thought they could get away with a little weekend mischief at a construction side north of downtown Chilliwack.

But their criminal deeds were exposed after police caught them in the act red handed.

According to a news brief from Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener, Mounties in Chilliwack responded on Sunday, April 21 at approximately 3 p.m. for the report of a break and enter in progress at a construction site. A male was seen entering the second floor of what appears to be an apartment building on Riverside Drive, after cutting a hole in the construction fence.

Police responded and located a male and female suspect who were arrested for break and enter. Cpl. Kiener says police investigated and discovered that copper wire was being cut and taken from inside the building.
