CHILLIWACK — For the second time in a week, a female has died after an off-road vehicle collision in the Chilliwack River Valley.

According to a weekend recap of police activity sent by Corporal Carmen Kiener, Chilliwack RCMP were dispatched on Saturday, April 20 at approximately 5:30 p.m. for the report of a collision between two off-road motorcycles on Chipmunk Creek Forest Service Road.

Corporal Kiener, spokesperson for the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment, says life-saving measures were exhausted on a 22-year-old female rider but she tragically succumbed to her injuries. The Integrated Collision Analysis Section attended to assist in the investigation which is ongoing. Criminality has not been ruled out, Cpl. Kiener said.

Police say this is the second fatality in a week involving an off-road vehicle in the Chipmunk Creek area. On Saturday, April 13, the Chilliwack RCMP responded to a fatal collision involving a single off-road vehicle. This collision resulted in the death of a 31-year-old female. Criminality is not believed to be a factor in that incident.
