Abbotsford man pleads guilty to homicide of his wife in the summer of 2022
ABBOTSFORD — An Abbotsford man has pleaded guilty in relation to a 2022 homicide case involving the death of his wife.
The incident dates back to July 28, 2022, when the Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) responded to a call regarding an assault at a residence in the 2900-block of Eastview Street. First responders found 45-year-old Kamaljit Kaur Sandhu suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate medical attention, Sandhu succumbed to her injuries.
Her husband, 48-year-old Inderjit Singh Sandhu, was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody in connection with the homicide. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the case and worked closely with AbbyPD and the BC Coroners Service to further the investigation.
In an IHIT news release, investigators say Inderjit Sandhu appeared in Abbotsford Supreme Court Friday (Apr. 19) and entered a guilty plea to second-degree murder.
