CHILLIWACK — A Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson has confirmed that a female ATV rider died following a vehicle collision Saturday (Apr. 13) in the Chilliwack River Valley.

Corporal Carmen Kiener emailed Fraser Valley Today Sunday morning to say police responded to the report of a collision involving an ATV on Chipmunk FSR at 4:44 p.m. Saturday. Cpl. Kiener says a female passenger died on scene after life-saving measures were exhausted by bystanders and B.C. EHS personnel.

“The Chilliwack RCMP Traffic Section is taking conduct of the investigation and is working alongside the BC Coroners Service to determine what may have caused this collision,” Cpl. Kiener said.

Cpl. Kiener said police will not be providing the identity of those involved.

B.C. Emergency Health Services spokesperson Jenny Peng confirmed in an email to Fraser Valley Today that paramedics received a call at 5:05 p.m. Saturday about a motor vehicle incident involving an ATV in the Chilliwack River Valley.

“Two ground ambulances and one air ambulance responded to a nearby staging area. No patient was transported to hospital,” Peng said.

Chilliwack Search and Rescue and Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department were also dispatched for the vehicle collision.
